I showed you guys these products a couple of weeks ago in my makeup haul post. In the comments people were asking for a follow up on if I was liking it or not, so I wanted to share my thoughts with y’all. This line is targeted towards people who have dry skin and for the record I have very very dry skin year round, and my skin is sensitive so that makes finding a super moisturizing serum or cream hard because they normally clog my pores. To say I was a little nervous about trying these products is an understatement.
As soon as I tried the moisture surge moisturizer right away I could feel relief in my skin. It is thick but somehow feels light at the same time. It is a unique constancy, but I liked it. It was thick enough that I knew it was going to help, but it didn’t feel overly heavy. It does stay sticky for a good bit so I would say to put it on about 10 minutes before you put your makeup on or before going to bed. My skin reacts very well to this moisturizer As long as I use it on a regular bases my skin soaks it up and looks and feels so much better. It doesn’t help with my breakouts, but I am okay with that. I knew that this line wasn’t for breakouts so I had no expectations for that, but I just wanted to make sure I mentioned that. If breakouts are a problem for you I would use a serum to help with it, and then use this moisturizer to help with the drying out process.
The concentrate moisture surge is nice, but I don’t think it has the same effect that the moisturizer does. To me it isn’t a staple, but it’s nice to have. It’s one of those products that you enjoy having in your stash for a relaxing night where you want to add a little more TLC to your skincare. If your skin is more towards oily but you have some dry patches you may actually really like this product! It’s very lightweight and it may be just enough hydration for your skin. Sometimes if my skin feels okay and hydrated I will replace my morning moisturizer with this instead, but for my skin type I can’t get away with that very much. I use it the most on nights where I do a mask for my acne. I will wash my face, do my mask, put on a oil, then I will use the concentrate followed up with my moisturizer. I normally do that on Saturday nights, and my skin seriously feels amazing and looks great the next day. It’s just a product that adds a little something to my weekly masking and TLC night, but I wouldn’t say that it is a run to your car in your pajamas, and go get this right now type of product where as the moisturizer in my opinion is.
The only negative that I have with both these products is if you use too much or your skin isn’t freshly cleansed the products will ball up on your face and that’s never good especially when you have makeup on. If I have freshly cleaned pillow cases and I sleep with my hair up I just lightly cleanse my skin in the morning. My doctor told me I could be overly cleansing my face so I switched to a gentle cleanser, and lightly cleanse it in the mornings. This had been working great for my skin, but with these new products it has made things a little more tricky. Mae sure that you cleanse your face well and use a small amount of product and try to use it quickly after your face dries. If you are using the products at the same time or your layering them with other products make sure your skin is completely dry and not sticky anymore from the products you previously put on your face.
In a nutshell I really recommend the moisturizer for the people who suffer with dry skin like I do. The concentrate would be best for people who have oily skin but have some dry patches that they would like to treat. If you want a treat in your TLC routine the concentrate is a good product to have on hand, but I don’t think it’s game changer. I want to try the eye cream from this brand next. Let me know if you have tried it or any of the other products in the line and what you think about them. I hope you are having a wonderful and blessed day!
