My #1 Meal Prepping Tip

#1 Meal Prep Tip You've never Heard of

 

Around here we are huge on meal prepping. I have a boutique in our small town where I refinish furniture, make the orders online from all our vendors, tag, price, package, work at the actual boutique, oh and I do the paperwork too! So to say I am busy and my hours differ from day to day is to say the least. My husband is a pharmacist and works at two independent pharmacies so his hours are long and up in the air as well. Sunday’s are the only day off that we both always have, but we are rarely home, and our church is an hour away. We serve on our hospitality team at church about twice a month, because we believe in serving others and being God’s hands and feet so we spend the majority of the day at church.

1 Corinthians 12:27 (NLT) 27 All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.

If you read the lengthy paragraph above then you know why my love for meal prepping is real (if you didn’t read it, it’s okay I’m just glad you’re here)! So I am just going to assume you know the basic tips; cutting the veggies before hand, have go to recipes, etc.

But what happens when you just get stuck? Sure you know two or three meals off the top of you head that your family likes, but when it’s been a long day and you just don’t have the energy to think up 7 meals for the week. My tip will help you with that! it’s tried and true, and honestly my saving grace when it comes to meal prepping!

I have to admit I’m a little embarrassed to share my first tip because it’s so simply, but I promise it has been a game changer!

My Meal Prepping Tip:

Write your seven meals on a index card.

I know I know it sounds so simple, but wait let me tell you WHY it’s so amazing! 

Why?

When you write your seven meals on the index card you have a SMALL menu that can be placed in a small container out of the way! If you were to write it on a piece of paper and place it in a binder, before long that small binder you have is going to become a GIANT BULKY binder with papers FALLING out of it and getting lost.

TIP: When you write you meals out on the index card REMEMBER to add WHERE you got the recipe from. Example: if the recipe came from a blog make sure to write the blogs name under it. This makes it super easier to just pull the blog up on your phone, and you’re ready to go!

My Favorite Reason:

Why I like the index cards so much is it’s fast to grab a card from a few months ago and BAM you have SEVEN meals all ready to go, and you don’t have to worry about flipping through a binder TRYING to find seven or more meals that will go well together for the week. I mean I know I can’t be the only one that was so brain dead that we had three different types of tacos in one week, right??

With the index cards you have seven meals already laid out that compliment each other, and the hard work is already done for you!
